A Monster called War

As part of the latest theme in the Creative Stars classes, the children were asked to draw a monster in oil pastel.

Here is the written explanation of a piece created by a 10 year old and it brought tears to my eyes. Children express things as they are, why do us adults have to complicate things?

‘In my school and amongst the news there is always a war talked about and every time there are innocent people that die because of it. I drew a monster to represent war as I see it because war eats people up like a monster. It doesn’t matter what side of the war you are on, innocent people die both sides and are almost always suffering at the hands of the monster called war. I did the fire in his eyes because that it the fire of war.’
