🤔 People often get so hung up and frustrated with wanting their drawing to be perfect and an identical copy of the real thing. Yes, there is a skill to that but solely focusing on that in schools is basically saying everybody needs to make something identical and where is the creativity in that! How is that encouraging individuality, free expression and exploration? If you want a copy of the real thing, go ahead and take a photo!
I just love this quote. By having the courage to just let the drawing flow, we can all incorporate our own life experiences and individually into our pieces and that’s what makes it art and that’s what makes it interesting, engaging and mesmorising to look at. Surely, we want our art to say something about ourselves, how we interpret life and how we express it. Why conform to what’s already there? Let’s embrace our differences and be proud of them. 🎨👣
