Over the past few years I have dipped in and out of the Zentangle craze and I always find it gives me a sense of mindful calmness. I always wish I had more time to do it too. It is a simple way of drawing structured patterns within a given area. Zentangles are usually done in black and white although I have zentangled over coloured paintings in the past.
Anyone can do it and the results are always beautiful, I have never seen an ugly zentangle, it just isn’t possible. You do not have to be able to ‘draw’, all you need is a pen and paper and it is accessible to all, adults and children alike.
So with this in mind, I decided to create a Zentangle Animal Pack containing 6 animal printed cards, a pen and ideas on how to start. (available in my shop) This week, a customer sent me a photo of a finished zentangle, the panda and I was wowed by it! Just looking at it, I can feel the love and calming focus the maker must have felt when completing it. I do so love seeing how I can inspire you to create, that is the aim of Art Stop, to get as many people as possible engaged and feeling the benefits from partaking in an art or craft activity.
Give it a try, you may surprise yourself!
